Often immigrant workers are more vulnerable and exploited. They are mistreated and paid less than native Icelandic workers. It can be difficult to even know what your legal rights are as a worker in Iceland if you don’t know the language and the system. The IWW believes all workers should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their origin or language. You have working rights in this country. We will help you stand up for them.
In these graphics we highlight some of your most basic rights. IWW Ísland encourages you all to read and share this album – especially with your fellow workers who might be new arrivals, are new to the labour market, or both.
We also regularly organize training sessions in basic Icelandic labour rights and in organizing at the workplace for improving your working conditions. Keep yourself updated about these events through our Facebook page.
